Our Location

Thirty years ago, we had the good fortune to choose the best single site in North America for a sailing school, in Berkeley, directly on San Francisco Bay. Our marina is on the famously predictable wind line that runs from the Golden Gate directly into our harbor. Our campus is surrounded by a 100-acre marine park -- the largest public access point to the Bay within 15 miles. And although San Francisco Bay is famous for its fog, only rarely does it creep our way. Our facilities and docks sit on six Bay-facing acres. OCSC students and club members enjoy instant acess to some of the finest sailing on the planet the moment they step on board. Five minutes off the dock, sailors are in the midst of the best sailing the Bay has to offer. You can sail to San Francisco's city front, Alcatraz and Angel Islands, Tiburon, Sausalito and the Golden Gate Bridge typically in less than two hours. And since the wind regularly blows from the west every OCSC sail ends up with a down wind run home.
